Sillyness at Space NK

With January being a particularly broke month for most people you would think that I would be saving my money to pay rent, bills etc. but no no!!! My route to the food market that I visit every Saturday happens to pass by the Space NK shop in Leeds and stupidly I walked into yesterday for a "browse".

I know a lot of people reading this won't have ever visited a Space NK store beforehand and to be honest your probably lucky! Your bank balance will be much happier. Space NK is any beauty fanatics paradise, its a beauty shop that houses high end labels that can be quite hard to find anywhere else. its like a willy wonka shop for beauty products!

I purchased two items yesterday. After the success that I have had with other REN skincare products and seeing as I was looking for a new moisturiser I picked up the REN Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream. It seems to come in quite a small bottle (50ml), for the price £27……OOPS! But the consistency is really thick so a little does go a long way. I first used it last night so a better review will be on its way once I have a better feel for it.

The second purchase was one not of need at all but one of pure want. The NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil. I blame other beauty bloggers for my purchase of this as there has been quite a bit of hype around this range of lip products and I got suckered into it. The NARS display yesterday in Space NK was so pretty and it was lucky that I only walked out with one. I purchased the shade BETTINA, which is a beautiful pinky nude shade. It essentially gives the "your lips but better" look and is a great everyday shade so at least I've told myself that this silly makeup purchase at the wrong time of year is entirely justified!

The staying power of this lip pencil is ridiculous, I wore it today for the whole day and even after I ate lunch I didn't have to reapply it. If I'm honest I can see myself purchasing quite a few other shades, thats if I don't change my route to the market every Saturday. Heres to hoping I can pay my rent!

Goodbye Blue Week

I think its safe to say that most people are probably delighted that the passed week is now over. Last monday has been given the nickname "blue monday" by many due to the fact that its the first monday back to work for most people after christmas. I honestly think that "blue" feeling doesnt just last a day and that week was one long week!!

After having the most incredible time back in Dublin for christmas for 2 WHOLE weeks, I flew back here to Leeds last Sunday. The trip to work last Monday was a little bit surreal, because I honestly felt like I had only been at home for about 3 days! The week went by awfully slowly and ontop of everything else I along with probably thousands of other people got hit by the delightfully horrific cold that seems to be doing the rounds. So of course I decided that I needed one hell of an at-home pampering session.

I ran a bath, got a book and completely chilled out. For anyone that needs to unwind after that long week I would strongly reccommend this idea. Everyone needs it every now and again! Between a hair mask, face mask and a bath melt I spoiled myself rotten and I now feel like tomorrow's trip to work wont be quite as deflating at all!!

Products Used (from l-r): Ceridwens Cauldron Bath Melt, Pure Seduction Shower Gel, Charles Worthington Intense Rescue Melting Balm, Frizz Ease Dream Curls Conditioner, Mint Julips lip Scrub, Kiehls Lip Balm No.1, Soap&Glory Luffa, The Righteous Butter Body Butter, The Scrub Of Your life, Bioderma Sensibio H20, L'Oreal Elnett Satin Heat Protect Styling Spray, Ren Hydra-Calm Cleansing Gel, Origins Clear Improvement Mask, Frizz Ease Extra Strength Hair Serum

Instead of going into huge detail on all of the products that I've used in detail and making this blog post crazy long I've picked my top three.

1. Ceridwens Cauldron Bath Melt: This bath melt is from Lush and although it doesn't turn your bath a crazy colour or smell delicious enough to eat, (like a lot of their other products) I think it is the best one for relaxing. The bath melt consists of Cocoa butter and Oats and is encased in some muslin cloth. It melts into your bath water leaving the water itself feeling moisturising. I know that sounds silly but honestly try it out and you'll understand what I'm trying to say! Once it has all melted away you are left with the oats within the muslin cloth floating around your bath. This leads to you having a 2-in-1 product from this bath melt, as you can then use it as an exfoliating tool! MIND BLOWN! It makes your skin feel incredibly "de-scaled" and due to the cocoa butter being incredibly moisturising the oats aren't harsh on your skin at all. If you ever find yourself in Lush and completely at a loss as to which bath product to pick up I would strongly reccomend this.
Note: It's horrifically hard to pronounce and I am pretty sure noone even working in the shop knows how to pronounce "ceridwens", So don't worry about sounding silly.

2. Origins Clear Improvement Mask: I tend to use this mask most Sunday evenings to clear out my pores of all the gunk that has managed to get into them during the week. It's a charcoal clay mask so you place it on clean skin and it dries on your skin which can be an awfully odd feeling. I normally leave it on for about 15 minutes and then take it off with a warm wash-cloth. After I use this mask my skin feels so clean and light. I feel that during the week from the constant use of different moisturisers and makeup the gunk that gets in your pores can actually make your skin feel quite heavy. If you're wearing make-up everyday, I do think that a face mask that clears out your pores is a really important step to include into your skin care regime. You would be surprised at the amount of stuff that your pores can get clogged up with.

3. The Righteous Butter, Body Butter: No pampering session would be complete without a good body moisturiser. Now I know a lot of people absolutely despise moisturising and hardly ever do it, but I really enjoy it! My collection of body moisturisers is ginormous and unfortunately constantly growing! (Note to self: Finish all body butters, moisturisers etc BEFORE purchasing more.) After a bath I like to use a body butter over body moisturisers. They're that bit thicker and lock in more moisturiser than normal moisturisers. The Righteous Butter is a Soap and Glory product and has that signature soap and glory smell. I find the consistency to be quite perfect for a body butter. It's not too thick which means that you can evenly spread it across your skin and its also not massively sticky. A massive pro that this body butter has, is that it dries extremely quickly. This leaves you able to put on your pyjamas less than a minute after you've used this body butter without the worry of your pyjamas sticking to your skin!!

Im all pampered out now and am ready to get into bed with a movie loaded on my tablet, I'm thinking tangled, you just can't beat Disney!

Happy Pampering!
